Pro: 16 megs ram, very reliable, large form factor, ho-hum looks, expandable w/out losing form.
Edge: 8 megs ram, very thin form, incredible looks, may not be 100% reliable, kludge expansion.
...in the end, it's up to you. If you're thinking you'll be a power user, get the Pro. If you think you'll be a regular/light user, get the edge.

I'd pick a Pro... maybe because there're fewer accessories out there for the Edge?
Whereas there's lots more for the Deluxe/Plat/Neo/Pro form factor..
And yeah, 16MB helps too.

Go for the pro. Make life easy on yourself.

Another important point on the Visor Pro vs. Edge is speed. The visor Edge is much much faster.
If you decide with the Edge. lemme know. I have a used one with an extra charging cradle (it's all *excellent*condition) that I'm looking to sell for about 120 bucks. I live at the other end of the Sound from you in Bonney Lake... so we could hook up in Bellevue if you're interested ..
Lemme know!

I've beamed benchmark 2.0 to the pro and edge in the store. The pro scores 162% and the edge 244%. I also tried playing a bit with both of them and the edge was much faster playing the game bejeweled.
It's strange that even though they use the same CPU and same screen (4-bit monochrome) that there is such a big difference.
The lack of speed on the Pro is starting to really bother me. I am going to try e-mailing Handspring's customer support and ask what the deal is. I'm sure this will get nowhere, but it's worth a shot. I payed the full $300 for what I thought would be a unit equal in speed to the fastest PalmOS models out. Instead I get something that feels more like using my Deluxe than using a new model. My step-mom has the Edge and there is a very obvious speed difference.

Ok, I called Handspring's Technical Support. I got a guy that didn't really understand what I was saying, but he took my information and refferenced it to a higher level tech rep. I gave him the url of SysInfo, the program that is telling me that my Pro is clocked at 28mhz, and told him about the results using Benchmark. They are supposed to call me back with thier response. I don't know if this is going to get me anywhere, but I am still trying. I feel like this is a pretty bad case of misrepresentation on Handspring's part. When I called the Sales department they happily told me that the Pro had the 33mhz Dragonball chip, but didn't mention anything about underclocking. I will keep the board up to date on what happens.

28 Mhz vs 33 Mhz
28 Mhz vs 33 Mhz...does it really make that much of a difference? I think some folks are just too picky. If the Visor Pro is indeed "underclocked", I am sure that there is a good technical reason for doing it.
