does the innogear mp3 player have a speaker or just a headphone jack? Any word on the price of the rio player and when it will come out? also the memory on the rio?
looking at the picute at http://www.innogear.com/mj.htm :
the innogear minijam just has a plug for a headset
Interesting. The Innogear site does not state that the MiniJam will have internal batteries, it just says that it will draw power from the Visor. I had en early impression that it could be used stand-alone just as well. They did mention an AC in jack for wall-outlet or cigarette lighter power, but that's no help while one is jogging (like I have been jogging since Carter was in the White House, but's that a different story).
It is nice that they are providing a cassette adapter for use in the...car....with my.....C..D....player...........damn. Well, it's still a nice touch, even if I personally can't use it. I wonder if it will have an LCD display for stand-alone use. We never see the backside (the side that is facing the Visor when it's plugged in).

The views and opinions expressed in this message are mine.....all MINE! And you can't have them! HAHAHAHAHA!
InnoGear's FAQ states that you can store data in their memory as well as MP3 music, which makes me wonder if you can use the MiniJam as FlashRAM storage.

When is this going to be available? I can't believe Tiger Woods is available and MP3 isn't. I ran into someone at the airport a few weeks ago who was admiring my blue visor and said he has one of these MP3 modules(connections)!
Also, will this drain my batteries?
Maybe I should just buy a Rio.
I think the Sprinboard has a limited amount of flash RAM (2MB perhaps?) to store the actual player software, skins, and other stuff. But there's probably room left over for personal data.
I'll bet Handspring has made available their flash mover app, so that other companies with SBs containing moderate amounts of flash RAM don't have to reinvent the wheel.

I think Innogear means that you can use the memory cards that fit into the mp3 player to store data files as well as mp3 files. If it contains the mover program I assume the memory cards could be used the in the same way as the 8MB module.
