Cool SKU #'s Posted Previously are Valid, release soon?

Release could be any day now...

I contacted Staples via their on-line customer service. The individual on the other end "CONFIRMED" that all SKU #'s posted here at VisorCentral ARE in their system! This person indicated that the items will be available in stores first, then on-line. Below is our dialog (names concealed-just incase):

Me: This is what was originally posted to the board:
SKU 471242 Visor Neo Red $199.99
SKU 471240 Visor Neo Blue $199
SKU 471241 Visor Neo Smoke $199.99
SKU 471239 Visor Pro Silver 16MB $299.99
Cust Serv: I will check, please hold for a moment.

Me: No Problem. Thanks!
Cust Serv: Thank you for holding. I do apologize but at this time we do not have it through delivery yet. You may check our stores.

Cust Serv: The stores get the new items first to see how well they will sell.

Me: Are the SKU's valid?
Me: Just watned to know so I could ask about the right items. Thanks for your help!

Cust Serv: Yes, all the item numbers are showing valid.

nothing about dates at all. it looks like a summary of a meeting and is a little bit difficult to read. "... blah blah blah ... THE COLOUR MODEL ... blah blah blah ... the third (the same???) .... both models ... " and so on.

when they say "fall" i think they mean fall here in europe. this means announcement should be in the very nearer future in us, because the new models are usally available later in europe (between 2 and 4 month).

but handspring is located in the us so why would they be in europe first?

i have a very good idea. handspring probaly has the web pages for the new devices in their database so they can load them onto the website as soon as they announce the new models right? Even though this is illegal, but isnt it possible for someone to hack into their computer through their web page and view these documents for the new models? and since many of you are developers im sure it would be no problem if it was llegal.

just my thought,
robert

robert,

thats what i said. announcement must be the next time in us. they spoke about announcement in fall (09/21/01 - 12/20/01). the email i got is from a european pr company and so they speak about european times/seasons ... this means announcement is 2-4 month earlier in us ...

Try a Visor Prism with a Xircom wireless module or VisorPhone.

Problem solved...

the email is in german.

the european technical support is in the netherlands, in amsterdam.
by buying a visor in germany you get a german tel. number for handspring, but fact is you dont talk to germany, you speak to the netherlands.

there is a support for replacing hardware in germany.

than there is another office in the switzerland but i dont know anything more about this office .... and there is an office in the uk.

I'm such a geek

Besides being so excited about new products that I'm not even going to buy and checking back for them constantly.... I know the movie 2010 quite well and "something wonderful" is from that movie...
(it's too bad they don't make 2061)

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. In this case, it definately is. PHOTOSHOP!
