Question

I keep hearing conflicting things about this stylus. I hear that it is great, but that it doesn't fit snug and will fall out. I hear that it has a nice weight to it, but that it sticks out of the visor too much. I hear that it has a reset pin, yet the pin won't fit into the reset hole.

What's the scoop? Is this thing really worth $15? Can someone post a photo showing what this thing looks like half hanging out of a visor?

Cool

I love it. I ordered a black one and it does stick out a bit, but it won't fall out. It isn't stuck either. It is so much nicer than the one that comes with the Visor. It has a nice weight to it and has a reset pin under the cap so you can do a soft boot without hunting around for something to use.

It's good. The reset pin works fine with my Visor. The stylus sticks out, yes, and this may be a problem for you, depending on the case you use. But totally disregard any complaints that the PDA Panache stylus will obstruct springboards--they make no sense. (Think about it: a springboard that blocks the PDA Panache stylus should just as well block any other stylus. All styli require the same clearance, or the silo would be useless.)

Unhappy

I like the weight of the PDA Panache and have grown used to it sticking out the top of my Visor. The stylus tip is great. BUT...I do find that it's not fitting in its slot as snugly as it did initially. It feels like it might start slipping out very soon.

I seem to be the only one complaining about the reset pin's fit. And it definately does not fit. I eMailed pdapanache and they immediately responded with an appology and a promise to send a new stylus, that day. That was yesterday. My complaint was promptly and appropriately addressed.

I have the chrome one. The stylus itself, not considering the reset pin, is definately worth $15, and I join the others in recommending it. The length is not terribly excessive and in fact necessary because there is no "clip" sort of thing to use in getting it out of the storage silo. You need a little something to grasp onto to help it out. The extra weight is great for grafitti. Thumbs up, for a superior product and service.

I was thinking it would be nice of PDA Pananche to just make a different "cap" for the stylus.

One that would fit in the Visor like the original.

That would give folks a choice. Sort of an add on, or option.

Anyone agree?

My PDA Panache (Black) fits my Handspring Visor Deluxe (Graphite) PERFECTLY. It's a great, high-quality product and I *will* be ordering another one...the chrome version, just to have a 'different' look.

Well worth $14.95

Major, major Kudos to PDA Panache!!!

I kind of like the way my chrome VIS-C sticks out of my blue Visor. One person asked me "what's the antenna for?"

Since the stylus doesn't have a 'clip' (for lack of a better word), the 1/4th inch is necessary for removal from the silo. And it doesn't look bad at all.

The reset pin on my chrome stylus from PDA Panache does not fit the reset hole on my GVD. I called PDA Panache today. They appologized for the problem and said they would send me a new stylus.

Seems like some fit and some don't, so my question is can it be bought at a store so I can test to see if it fits before I buy it ?

I think the term "fit" might be misleading you. The stylus does fit in the Visor in terms of width, but it sticks out about 1/4" at the top because there is no "clip" (to borrow from above) like the one on Handsprings' stylus. i haven't seen any postings where the stylus did not "fit," other than the protruding top. To be honest, the 1/4" is a little annoying at first, but after about two days, its no big deal, and I actually like the fact that it sticks out now!

My Chrome PDA Panache fits great in my IVD. I love it. The reset pin works fine for me.

One small quibble: I've heard that the other PDA Panaches (the ones for the Palms) had hexagonal-shaped tops so they didn't roll around when placed on a desk or other surface. I do wish the Visor model had the hexagonal top (it's round instead) because it DOES roll around when you set it down. A minor hassle, probably not a reason not to get the Panache but maybe a reason to consider a similar product that wouldn't roll, if one became available...

I too complained that the pin was too large and they sent me a new one, promptly. I recommend the stylus and the company. Two thumbs up.

Question

I have the EB Slipper case with belt clip. Can anyone tell me whether the PDA Panache stylus (sticking out 1/4")will interfere with the closing of this case?

I just got my long waited Chrome PDA Panache today. I place an order over two weeks ago but since the demand is really high, it was on back order. Anyways, but the problem with me is that this pen is too heavy for me. Maybe this pen is very comfortable for men, but it is definitely too heavy for a girl. Would any of you be interested to purchase from me? this is the brand new one. All I did was removed from the case to try it out. I still have all the original box. Let me know if you are interested.

Exclamation

An upcoming option to the PDA Panache is from E&B. They have announced a Visor stylus is forthcoming. It may be like the one they have for the Palm V ( http://www.ebcases.com/store/script...ax=10+results=5 )

This looks like it has a button on the side near the top for removal from the silo (can't tell for sure) and so it wouldn't have to stick out. Maybe James can get a sample for evaluation.

I received my PDA Panache black stylus today. I placed the order about two weeks ago. It was on backorder.

It has a great weight and feel. I was starting to get used to the stylus provided by Handspring (plastic toothpick), but this one is very nice. When you place the two side-by-side, the difference is quality is quite obvious (as it should be for $14.95).

It fits quite snugly into the holder. It sticks out at the top about the thickness of two pennies. I can't imagine it interfering with a case, but I guess it depends on how tight your case is. It will not interfere with any expansion items.

Also, the reset pin works just fine.

I, for one, am a happy customer.

Mark
