Subject: RhinoSkin's line of Protective Cases for the Visor/Visor Deluxe
Date: Wed, 03 Nov 1999 23:37:08 GMT
From: [email protected]
RhinoSkin is pleased to announce that it's line of RhinoPaks (RP
1000/2000/3000), as well as the Shocksuit Sportcase will accomodate the
highly touted Visor/Visor Deluxe. Late this week or early next,
RhinoSkin will also launch a Titanium Slider for the Visor/Visor
Deluxe. For further images and details, go to: http://www.rhinoskin.com/
Heehee! I just ordered a RhinoPak 2000 from PalmGear.com a couple days ago. It looks like RhinoSkin just took a Visor and took pictures of it with all their old cases (except for the Ti case, which is custom-made). It's nice to see that my VDlx will fit in the RP2K well.
If you look closely at the large picture of it, you can see they have the screen cover on the back of the VDlx and the elastic straps are threaded through it. Great idea.
Is the Titanium Rhinoskin a good deal?
It looks good (from the picture), it seems like it's protective ... but is it worth the high price?
My supervisor bought the titanium case after he dropped his original Palm III and broke the screen. It's damn near bulletproof, but it seems like there's only enough padding to hold the Visor/Palm snug inside the case. It'll probably survive a fall just fine, though I wouldn't want to throw it against a wall or anything.
Anybody try out the sport shock case with belt clip? Looks interesting. Does the cover flip backwards all the way?
Yeah, I tried the Shocksuit: Save your $$$. The velcro to hold the cover closed came off the first day (on both my original and the replacement they sent)and the stylus holder is outside the case. My stylus fell out constantly. Overall, even though the case was well padded I just didn't think the construction was very good. On the plus side, customer service was excellent!
Well, I ordered one of the shock suits so we'll see. I just couldn't get past the $100 price of the titanium case. Hopefully my experience will be different.
I have the Shocksuit for the IIIx and like it very much. I didn't like the plastic stylus that came with the VDX so I got a 3-pk of metal ones for the IIIx. Anyway, one stylus fits on the outside of the case and the other two fit nicely inside the case since the VDX is smaller in width than the IIIx. I also like the fact that the belt clip has a positive locking feature. Just my opinion but, I think it's worth to $.
I ordered a ShockSuit SportCase and one of their "factory 2nds" (but I sure can't tell why) Forest Green RhinoPak 2000 Sport-Ute Cases. I don't have my Visor yet
But I think the cases are awesome.
I MUST talk about thier customer service. I order via the web on Thursday morning. I received e-mail confirmation of my order immediatly. Later that afternoon I received that confirmatin that my order had shipped! Even though I used the least expensive shipping option (Fed Ex 3-5 days) It showed up at work the NEXT MORNING!
Now THAT'S great customer service. Rhino Skin get's my full thumbs up recommendation. In fact, I'm going to order another set of cases for my wife's Visor (Will the gods of shipping be kind? Please get here before Christmas).
