Foo: For some reason, its seems that people on this board are very touchy, and really like to point out fault in other people. Beats me, all I did was try to answer Manta's question -- which I did, accurately.

Manta: "So to get a clear answer out of you ... will the Visor (with its current OS) be able to play an mp3 while I type in my contact list (at the same time)?"

Manta: I don't know how the Innogear MP3 player is engineered. My understanding is that Springboard devices -can- be independent from the Visor, like a pager card when its not attached, but I don't know about the MP3 player. If you examine the picture closely you'll notice it has its own controls, perhaps the Visor is used as a supplementary display. Until we actually see one in production, I can't really say.

My understanding, as explained to me at Internet World by the Innogear guy (forgot his name), was that the mp-3 player can be used separately, provided it is hooked up to a power source.

The playorder and everything else can be arranged with the pda software, but is not necessary to be running once you set it up (ie run it, set the order and go from there). So if you want to play a game or type in Memopad or whatever, no problem.

As far as being a separate unit, I dunno if you'd want to have it as a standalone, but they are going to have a power jack for it, so buy the plug or the battery-holder/power-delivery thing and go for it.

I can't wait to get one myself...
