-- Handspring Desktop version and Pinstall software (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8290)

Cool

I have a Visor Deluxe and palm desktop version 3.0.2H. Pinstall is a program that allows you to install programs without a complete hotsync. It does not work with my version of the desktop software, as the USB drivers are not recognized. I run Win98SE. Can I just download the updated software and run it on my computer? Pinstall does work via serial port with my current palm desktop software and IrLink, but IR is so much slower than USB. The developer is working on getting the program to work with the original desktop software and USB, but he cannot get a copy. I hope it will eventually work with the old and newer versions of the software. So, does the download for the updated desktop software work with Win98SE?

Thanks,
Jon

Thumbs up

The Handspring Desktop software update indeed works well with Win98 and updates the USB drivers to work with Pinstall. Pinstall is just great, even faster than the palm install software. If you have the old desktop software, update and try Pinstall if you download and try a lot of applications. I am in not affiliated with Pinstall. I just like the program.

Is there a Pinstall-like program for the Mac? Sounds cool.
