Voice Recording

I'm looking at buying either a new Neo or a refurb Prism. I like the idea of using it to take voice notes (something useful on the long commutes). I see that the Handspring site is advertising 2 units that look like something that I could use. One is the Total Recal DIgital Voice Recorder (1 1/2 hours of record time, and you can use the unit outside of the Visor). THe other is the ProRecord Digital Voice Recorder, which advertises up to 8 hours of record time.

Has anyone used these units, or something similar? How do they impact the battery life? Any comments?

Thanks

Tom

Yes, I saw them. I was specifically interested in the *other* recorder, the one that's not reviewed.

OTOH, the Total Recall sound slike it would fit my needs pretty well. Even without a Pause button, I'm more in the habit of making short notes, so rewinding a minute or three shouldn't be such a big deal.

Thanks anyway.

It's digital. Takes less time to advance and rewind than an audio CD.

If you are interested, I have a brand-new shrink-wrapped Total Recall for sale at $35. [email protected]

Dang!

Dang, and I just ordered one last night when I ordered the Prism.

I don't know if it's worth the trouble, but since you just ordered it yesterday you could call them up and cancel the Total Recall before it's shipped, if you want to save some money, that it. I don't have the Total Recall with me now since I'm on Spring Break. I'm going back to school on Sunday.

I've been trying to sell the Total Recall for some time, so if you want it let me know.

The ProRecord is not my favorite, I sold it off about two weeks after I bought it

I've had a PDA capiable of recording my voice for more than a year, and I've never touched that capibility...

Largly over rated, plus I can't stand to hear my own voice to transcribe the notes. My notebook and pen work just as well, and plus I'm finding long hand (w/ fountian pen) to be plain old fun..

Cheers,
