memory of platinum
Hi,
I will be a new HS user in a few days. I want to buy a visor platinum thats so cheap in Turkey ($112). I've read, it stores programmes on it's DRAM, and as I know DRAMs need battery to keep information stored. The question is, when I remove batteries, does the platinum lose the stored info? Or is there any constraint in replacing batteries (maximum memory retaining time without battery etc.)
Thanks for answers
Semih
The Platinum does depend on batteries to keep its memory, but it has a built-in capacitor that gives you about a minute to change batteries. It's best to change one battery at a time rather than removing both batteries and then putting new ones in, though, because sometimes you don't really get a minute.
