Here�s the deal - I�ve been flawlessly hotsyncing my Visor with Lotus Organizer v6 for the past month. Recently, however, I got a little fed up with some of Organizer�s shortcomings, and so I switched over to MS Outlook. I reinstalled the software that came with my Visor (including Pocketmirror), and now, for whatever reason, I can�t hotsync. The error message I keep getting reads �

�An application on the PC failed to respond to a confirmation query. This application may need to be restarted.�

I�ve uninstalled and reinstalled Palm Desktop and Pocketmirror countless times, but I keep getting the same error message.

Anyone out there know what�s going on???

Have you removed Lotus and/or whatever you were using to synch with it??

To answer your question Mike � no, I haven�t removed it. I�d still like to save it. It does have one feature I like � printing labels.

If removing it is the only solution, so be it. What are you thinking ... that Palm Desktop is still trying to sync with Lotus, even though I�ve got Pocketmirror now loaded?

One thing to also keep in mind is that if you were using EasySync you probably won't be able to sync any of the standard Palm Aps to Outlook or Palm Desktop until you remove the special pdb files from the Visor. I don't recall off hand the name of the files. Search these forums for EasySync and you'll find more details.

This is probably not related to the error msgs your getting now, but it may be another hurdle you'll need to overcome once you fix that problem.

Hi Ken--

I wasn't sure from your original message how you first changed over the sync process from Organizer to Outlook.

Did you uninstall EasySync on the desktop and deleted the PDB files on the Visor that bregent mentioned and then installed PocketMirror?

Or did you first installed _over_ your existing Palm Desktop installation and then installed PocketMirror? (This would have retained the EasySync files on the desktop). Subsequent uninstallation of the Palm Desktop without first uninstalling EasySync won't change the EasySync settings-- EasySync has to go first.

One tip: Before uninstalling EasySync and then the Palm Desktop, turn off the HotSync Manager first. With the HS Manager enabled, some stuff is unfortunately left stranded in the registry and can cause unpredictable results when sync'ing.
