Well Whadya know? Edge Accessories

...and an intelligently designed accessory, it seems.

A case/keyboard that allows for the sled if need be. Seems pretty neat.

edit: Took at look at the actual homepage. it won't cure cancer and it uses <hushed voice>velcro</hush>. I'm also betting the the keyboard won't be up to Blackberry quality. Stilll, nice to see Edge stuff out there.

Dietrichbon... you don't really think this is an intelligently designed accessory do you? True, I am also happy to see Edge accessories. But I checked out the company's page when I saw the article posted on the front of visorcentral.

Not commenting on the fact that I really think the stowaway keyboard is easier to use (or any full-size keyboard), but what about when you just want to use your Edge? If the keyboard-flippy thing is attached, it looks like it would be in the way if you wanted to use the grafitti, or play a game, or access anything else on your visor.

So should you only connect it when you need the use of the keyboard? Which means you'd want to put back on your original flip cover. That implies switching back and forth with covers when you need/don't need the keyboard. With the stowaway, I can keep my case (the handspring dimple-looking metal case or the default flip cover) on w/o having to remove it.

For just a small decrease in $$$, it just doesn't seem like a worthy purchase. I'm a unix system administrator by trade, and from being in front of a computer all day long... you just can't beat the feel of a real keyboard...

I guess I should have written "original" design. I don't think it's so bad, it's certainly more portable than an edge + stowaway. If I were proficient at one handed typing, I could really see myself digging on this wheven I had a flat surface. In class would be especialy neat--no key clicking noise, small enough to fit on the desk.

...Heck if I still had my edge, I might have jut bought it and tried it out--maybe even submitted a review.

...in the end, though, it wouldn't be for me, the edge is about thin and has no need for a 3rd party case.
