I've tried a couple of different backlighting hacks (greenlight and EZbackround). Both times my visor got a "fatal exception error" and locked up. I could only fix it by a hard reset(backup module wouldn't even help). Any body else experience similar problems. Any solutions. I'm hesitant to try again after reloading all my info.

I seem to remember that EZBackground didn't work well with Visors.
You are always taking a risk with hacks. The only way to minimize the risk is to check the incompatibility chart http://www.visorcentral.com/silindex.php3

Alas, greenlight and EZBackground are not listed!

I've been using Green Lite Hack on my Visor Deluxe from day one without incident.

Also, when you soft re-set, with hacks installed, the hacks are disabled. The first message you get after the Palm logo appears is one which asks you if you would like to reactivate your installed hacks. Therefore, perhaps it is not a hack which is causing your unit to crash but something else?
