Well duh,

I purchased my Thinmodem 2 weeks before the Thinmodem+ came out (shame shame shame).

I know that CardAccess was advertising that there would be a free software upgrade for the regular thinmodem so that it could work at the higher speed - without (of course) the memory upgrade.

Does anyone know if this is out yet? I know that CardAccess has changed their name (or got bought out) -- but their website doesn't work.

Thanks, but, the link you gave did work -- and and had the same info that the new co named website had. There was nothing there about the promised upgrade -- unless I missed it.

Hi again -- I just checked the CardAccess web site and they say that the upgrade will be available in March and will include 56K functionality as well as a new e-mail program and a 16bit version of Browse-it. Does anyone know if this is still true and when the upgrade will be out?

I e-mailed cardaccess and got a response from them on 3-12. They said they were going to release the upgrade in one to two weeks. I'm looking forward to the end of the month!

Well, I did hear back from Card Access -- here's their response:
Our next major Thinmodem code update will be ready in a couple of weeks.
This will include the V.90 (56K) code, and a full version e-mail application
from JP Systems called One Touch. It will also include Browse-it 2.0 and the
File Mover application, which will allow you to remove and write
applications to the Thinmodem Flash memory. I will send you an e-mail
reminder when this update is available for download, if you wish. It will be
a free upgrade for all Thinmodem users.
