I thought I had a defective USB cradle, but now find that it works on a friend's desktop machine, but still will not work with my Compaq Presario (1255) notebook. Has anyone successfully used a USB cradle with a Compaq notebook? If so, any suggestions for me?

I'm running on a Compaq Amanda 1592DMT with Windows 98 and my USB hotsync operations were working fine until this morning. I had to perform a soft reset ans all is good again.

Thumbs up

I have a Compaq Armada 3500 running the latest version of Windows 95. Although I have a USB port and this version of Windows is supposed to support it, it's baloney. It just sits there, doesn't do anything.

I use the serial cradle and it works great, so I'll be fine for the time being, until I upgrade my OS.

Good luck!

I have a Compaq Presario 1655 running Windows 98 and am generally able to hot sync with no problems. The only thing that seems to happen almost every time is that it takes longer to shut down after the hot sync. The two times I have had trouble with hot sync it seems the system was busy. After a reboot of the system there is no problem.

My Visor is synching with my Compaq notebook (Presario 1255) Computer ... finally! After discovering that the cradle was not defective (as the tech people at HS had determined) I called Compaq and they suggested upgrading to Windows 98 second edition. I received it today, installed it, and "presto," my visor now hotsynchs with my computer.
