Restoring Datebook after Hard Reset

Suffered a hard reset yesterday... But was able to recover from a week-long backup (live & learn!).

Anyways, this morning when I went to synchronize my Prism w/ my PC, I mistakingly forgot to change the setting to "Desktop Overwrites Handheld" so that I could restore my current Datebook backup, from the PC, onto my PDA.

Right now, my Prism's Datebook (using ActionNames) is completely BLANK!!!! My Datebook on my PC (Palm Desktop) still has the my entire current appointments, but when I try "desktop overwrites handheld", it does not update my ActionNames Datebook.

Any suggestions on how I can get everything back onto my PDA?

Thanks!

What is the status of the bulit-in datebook? Are there any records in it? Or is it empty like ActionNames Datebook? Are there any error messages in the hotsync log?

That's the weird part...

The DateBook+ has almost all the records in it... It's just that ActionNames isn't reading the database...

There were some errors this morning (something about how the handheld had less records than the desktop, and how I might have to delete some records to make room?!?)... But that might be due to ActionNames being "unregistered"... I need to re-enter the serial#.

Any suggestions?

It sounds to me that the hotsync conduit is working correctly. The conduit only syncs the built-in datebook db, then 3rd party datebooks, such as ActionNames or Datebook4, just read the db. Sounds like the problem is with ActionNames. Try this:

1. Delete ActionNames from the Prism.
2. Hotsync again and verify that all the records from your pc app show up in the Prism builtin datebook
3. Reinstall ActionNames and verify that it now has the correct entries.

If all the records show up in the builtin datebook, then the hotsync conduit is doing it's job. If the entries don't show up in ActionNames, then the problem is most likely with ActionNames.

Good Luck! Let us know what happens....

Actually, I figured out the problem of no appoinments showing up in ActionNames... I had to enable the "Show-All" option from the "Magnifying Glass menu". Once I did that, all the appointments showed up!

Now my only problem is trying to get back all the appointments I had in prior to losing all the info. I will have to cross reference with my Palm Desktop to see if the recent appointments are still present.

Thanks for your suggestions!! I appreciate it!
