Hot-Sync Issues
*sigh* Bought a Visor Neo last night. Installed the Palm Desktop software, everything is fine. Until I try to hot-sync for the first time. It locks up (as in fails) because it can't sync the memo pad. There are the default 4 messages in Memo Pad. I delete them and save them as archives. Try to hot-sync again, nope, won't happen, crashes while doing the Memo Pad. I do a soft reset, nope, still can't finish the hot-sync. I do a hard reset, and then delete the memo pad files without archiving them. It works this time. I install the Franklin Covey software. It asks if I want to overwrite the Palm Desktop. I tell it no. I install Mega Gammon, Solitaire and Pill Pal and make 3 entries into the address book. Hot-Syncing causes it to fail on the Pill Pal. ARGH! Now it seems that Hot-Syncing fails every time I try it and I have it fail in different places.
Should I delete all the software on my laptop and reinstall EVERYTHING? Then do a hard reset on the Neo and HOPE it works? The Memo Pad thing bothers me, as I'd like to be able to at least keep those on there for a few days. *sigh*
I'm running Windows 98 SE, with a 166 MMX Intel processor on a laptop with USB.

Check the HotSync log (right-click the HotSync icon in the Windows tray and select View Log...) to see if it contains any error messages that might help pinpoint the trouble.

All it says is that it failed ... and then it says that it lost the connection. *sigh* I got hit by a virus so I uninstalled everything, and then reinstalled Windows. So maybe a clean install will help.
