-- Case modifications (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14028)
What modifications have people made to their cases. flip covers, etc. to make them suit their needs better?
I took a RhinoSkin 1100 and gave it the same kind of belt loop thing that the Handspring Sport Case/Incase Pouch uses
1.- Carefully clip off old belt loop
2.- Cut and heatseal 2 pieces of 3/4 webbing, 1 about 4-6", the other about 12" long.
3.- Fold the shorter piece in half through the non-sliding part of a 3/4" Fastex buckle. Sew near the bottom of the case as close to the buckle as you can. Cut off excess webbing, reseal.
4.- Sew an end of the long piece near the top. Thread on a 3/4" D-ring, sew agan as close as possible.
5.- Thread on the sliding end of the buckle. Roll up the loose end of webbing a few times and sew across it to keep it from coming out of the buckle easily.
I modified a cheap Sumdex case to use the Visor snapcover instead of Velcro by cutting the Velcro out carefully, then sewing hems on all 4 sides of a small piece of nylon fabric, then sewing two sides of the nylon into the case.
Now, I just slip the snapcover behind the nylon panel, and snap the Visor in place!
What has everyone else done?
While I haven't done this personaly, there is a mod in the PPC world that takes the PC card or the CF card sleves for the iPAQ and trims out the useless things and inserts them into the naked paq Vaja cases. and they are very small and quite cool.
As for visors, the main things that I remember are replaceing the clip on the handspring belt case with a swivle clip and people who would take the included slip case and front cover and cutting them up and combining them so there was 1 flip cover case....

I took my Rhinopak 3000 and put some velcro inside so I don't have to use the straps in order to hold my phone and my VDX at the same time. I also put a piece of cardboard into the thin pocket on the back to make the case stiffer and thus, easy to use in your hand. Now I can just pull out my case unzip it turn on my VDX and phone and browse teh internet. When I'm done, I turn them off and zip it up.
