This is an offshoot of the "Pink Visor" thread. Taki suggested I start a new thread to show the purple unit.

I used the instructions to dye another Visor purple. Please see the "Pink Visor" thread for complete instructions. I don't want to duplicate...I have posted pictures to my website.

Special thanks to Taki for the English translation and Molly for hosting a great website, Palm de Cool. See more interesting stuff about Visors at Palm de Cool.

Now to try for a "tie-dye" version...

There was a company making color cases for the Palm III that looked really nice. The colors were molded through so the colors were very vibrant, sort of like a Jolly Rancher. I've seen pics of the pink and purple Visor homebrews, but didn't think the colors were deep enough. Maybe there will be enough interest from industry to make a replacement case for the Visor. If there can be replacement faces for the Nokia phone, there should be replacement cases for a handheld organizer. Good work on the case, fixitgal! Please post pics of your tiedye case or rainbow one when you get it done.

The palm case maker was PALMCOLORS I believe. We tried to convince them to produce for the VISOR but they didn't seem interested at the time.

fixitgal, don't know how tongue-in-cheek your tie-dye comment was, but you might want to check out some info from e-lacrosse.com regarding dying lacrosse sticks (the head of the stick, to be precise)
some of the techniques may be transferrable (stick heads start out white)

Cool tips...
David,
Thanks for the links. They gave me some more ideas on designs and some "technical" tips on how to dye with multiple colors.
Next to purple, a tie-dye version has been the second most asked for. I definitely want to give it a try.
I love this board...You get all kinds of interesting info
