Lightbulb sharing cradle for Visor Prism and Platinum

Can the same cradle be used (other than charging) for the prism and the other non-rechargeable Visor models?

well, technicly...If your going to use a prism in another cradle other then the one that came w/ it (ie. a neo/platinum cradle), it won't work 'cause the prism is too big to fit in that cradle.

But, if your going to use another visor (ie. neo/platinum) in the prism cradle, you would have too hold it in 'cause the prism cradle is too big.

So, even though the Visor Line has the same connector (except the edge i think), the prism is the largest of them all, and that's why handspring made "prism" specific accessories, like cradles and cases.

I was thinking in terms of synching. My Visor Platinum fits loosely in the Prism's cradle but it still hotsyncs just fine.

I have a Prism, a Pro, and a Neo and Hot/synch them all with the Prism cradle. I even charge the Pro with it. However, the Neo and Pro (like the Plat noted above) are not a perfect fit and tend to float a little, so don't try to use the cradle in a mobile environment! <grin>

ditto

My wife's deluxe cradle died. Out of despiration she dropped her deluxe into my Prism's cradle and it synced just fine. I later bought her a 3rd party cradle at OfficeDepot/Max (I can never remember which is which) that folds. Her new one keeps collapsing on her so she still uses my Prism cradle.

I have a Visor cradle in "ice" that came with my Neo. I already have a graphite cradle for my pro and a blue one for my Prism. If you come to my house in St. Louis I'll hand it to you!

But seriously, there are good deals on accessories still at CompUSA.com, although not near as many as there were a few weeks ago. There is a serial cradle too, but I assume you want a USB cradle so here is what they have currently, besides the fold-up cradle you do not like:

OPEN BOX1:USB HotSync Cradle for Visor, Graphite
Product Number:273024
Brand: Handspring $9.99 Add to Cart

OPEN BOX1:USB HotSync Cradle for Visor, Ice
Product Number:273025
Brand: Handspring $9.99 Add to Cart

Power Sync HV USB Cable for Handspring Visor Handhelds
Product Number:50157844
Brand: EXP Computer, Inc. $18.73 Add to Cart

I have bought a lot of their open box products and they were all fine, with all the pieces. You can spread out the flat $5.00 shipping cost over several other items you buy at the same time.

Go to <www.compusa.com > then use their search function for "handspring" or "visor" or "springboard" to turn up all the goodies.
