-- IR-connection to Nokia (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11758)
I use my Nokia 6210 together with my visor without the use of IR-link. The only software Ive insalled to make it work was the Infrared update & Beamsync.
To make it work, select "serial via: Infrared" in the "Serial/IR"-control panel
Modem prefs:
-----------------
Modem: Standard
Speed: 14.400bps
Speaker: Off
Flow Ctl: On
Country: other (didnt work when I had Sweden selected here)
String: AT&FX4
TouchTone
Interesting ... what exactly does this let you do? Is this basically a wireless modem for your Visor?
I have a Nokia 6160 that has a little red thingy on top, but I was told that's just for show, and it does nothing!
My Nokia 6210 worked without any additional software. I just created a new connection entry in the Preferences (don't know the correct name because I have the german version). Now I can use the Nokia as a wireless modem to connect to my ISP (kind of expensive though).
I think it only works on the European 6000 series phones. The US phones don't actually have a modem in them. For that you'd have to get a 8290.
