-- Question for those who have opened their Visor (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=643)
If you had the courage to open your Visor to see its guts, this question is probably for you.
I noticed that the Visor display is not centered within its plastic case. If you look at the case border on the left, it's about 1/8 inch wider than the border on the right. By "border" I am referring to the distance from the screen edge to the case edge.
I was wondering if there was something inside that forces this. I seem to remember that the Visor is about 1/8 of an inch smaller (more narrow) than the Palm III, so maybe it's not that there is 1/8 inch more on the left side, but that there is 1/8 inch less on the right.
Just curious.
If you would read the "Visor Screen" thread you will see posts discussing this topic. Just info

Nope -- completely different topic. The construction of the Visor case is my question. Why is the case width greater on the left of the screen than on the right?
This may be due to the placement of the IR device. Don't know, have not recieved mine yet.
I don't think it's because of the IR. This width difference is also present in the original Palm Pilot design. I don't know why they chose to make the sides with differing widths. Maybe it has something to do with a right-handed bias. I don't think there is any mechanical necessity for such a design. It's either ergonomic or aesthetic.
BTW, I did open up my visor, and I couldn't detect any reason for the design.

I noticed this, and the only thing I can think of is for the IR.

If it's true on the Palm models, also, then I'd guess it's because of where a right-hander's thumb would probably be.
