does any one know if you can remove the base 64 or 32 MB chips in the MiniJam, I would just do this for faster transfers. . . I think I would kill my self if I had to wait 30 minutes for 64MB's of music to fill up.

The MiniJam comes with a MMC card - 32mb or 64mb - that is removable. There are two slots on the module, so if you bought a MJ with a 64mb card, and added another 64mb card, you could have 128mb of music. I think there is about 2mb on the module itself, for MJ (and other) programs.

At this point, I don't know if the module will read the card if the music was loaded outside the MiniJam.

During one of my "what if I..." sessions, I moved the MiniJukebox, Miniloader, and Launchpad apps (separately and all 3) to my visor memory and tried playing a tune. Predictably, it crashed the visor, causing the reset loop, and forced a Hard-Reset. So, since your observation is very similar, I'd say nope...

Question Which One then

Well then, I have a mac, and I can't decide whether I want the MiniJam or the SoundsGood. The Soundsgood isn't for the mac yet, and my anal retetiveness woule go for the sounds good, but the minijam has a ripper, skins and has expandable memory. I really can't decide, although, has anyone dealt with either company or the product, because that has a major effect on me now. After my expericance with the Handy GPS I want something that is proved and WILL work. not like that piece of crap.

I believe he meant loading music onto the card with an external MMC reader/writer, rather than loading them through the minijam.

In that case the answer is NOPE. Unless you got the not-released-yet SpeedLoader from Innogear, you aren't going to speed up transfer rates. The mmc is formatted in a proprietary format.
