Question Handspring Stock

I'm a bit puzzled. I noticed Handspring's stock shot up today by $.80/share. We haven't seen that kind of activity since about a day before (and once) the TREO was announced where it jumped about $1.30. It has been on a steady decline until today. I found it rather fishy a few weeks ago how the stock moved straight up "prior" to the announcement that the TREO was going to be released in the USA. Almost "as if" many knew ahead of time

With today's jump I'm curious if there is going to be another announcement that others know about and we don't? My best guess is either the color Treo will be announced sooner than expected or something else... I'm only speculating, I have know inside info here! The only news release today was about Earthlink supporting PalmOS/PPC for wireless communications but I couldn't imagine that release having anything to do with the spike in the price.

Anyone else have any ideas? Not that I care to discuss stocks (I don't have a clue what I'm talking about), but it's just an observation... Anyone else thinking something similar (or not)?

I think the drop was probably three-fold. 1) I think that the delay in shipping the Treo contributed to it the most (since the Treo announcement seems to be the thing that brought the stock back from the dead). 2) I think Dubinsky's silly statement about leaving the 'traditional organizer' business before they had a viable 'communicator' product even shipping contributed somewhat as well. 3) I'm sure that some people took advantage of a relatively high point in the stock ($7.xx compared to $1.xx) to get _some_ recoupment on their investment which they might have thought wouldn't happen again. I think that the sudden resurgence is most likely due to the fact that people are actually receiving Treos now. Now that it's a real product, people might regain their enthusiasm.
