-- The Best Holster SWIVEL case? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8385)
Please tell me what the BEST holster, (belt carrying case), with the swivel is. I almost bought Handspring's belt clip, which is exactly what I want, but with the swivle action. Please point me in the right direction, web-site address would be great too. Thanks!

A while ago, I took my Handspring belt-clip case and modified it by carefully removing the belt-clip and the little tabs that attached it. I then bought one of those generic "button" clips (available anywhere cell phone accessories are sold) and placed the button on the back of the case. Now it's a swivel belt-clip case that works quite well.
The case itself protects the Visor's screen fairly well but doesn't offer much other protection since the back of the unit is exposed. However, I believe it is still the only "holster" style case that will also hold the Visor with oversized Springboard modules installed.

How did you attach it? Glue?
I don't have a cell phone and have not used this "button" stle clip before, I am curious, how did you attach it, Glue, Duck tape :-) ? Did you have to break the original clip in order to attach this one? If it's that easy, I'll order it today.

To remove the original clip, there is a small piece of spring steel that holds the clip part on. Removing that allows it to be removed. Then, using a sharp razor knife, I carefully removed the little tabs that were molded into the case by "shaving" them down and then filed everything smooth.
The "button" attaches using a double-sided adhesive. Make sure to clean the surface thoroughly using rubbing alcohol before attaching it. I would also recommend letting it sit for a while before using it to let the adhesive "set".

Adhesive?
Adhesive? Really? How secure is that? How long have you been using it with adhesive? How do you use your Visor, (what industry are you in)? How much of a beating will it take?

So far it has held up quite well. I used the case exclusively from mid-January until mid-March (when my E&B Slipper arrived). Since then, I have not used it very often (maybe 4 or 5 days a month) but the button is still nice and secure. I'm more concerned about knocking the Visor out of the case than I am with the adhesive failing.
As for endurance testing, I work in a warehouse and production facility and I'm constantly bumping into things around the building (skids, boxes, racking, etc). The swivel action allows for some "play" so the case can move. Like I said, the backside of the Visor is exposed and that concerns me more.
These days, I have a cheap neoprene belt-loop camera case ($5.97 from the Wal-Mart photo dept) that both the modified HS case and the Slipper fit into nicely. That's what I now use at work. It gives a fair amount of "cushion" as well as offers protection from the elements (dust, dirt, debris). The cases themselves protect the screen.

I would vote for the slipper. http://www.visorcentral.com/vcrevie...?id=21&pv=1 It allows you to sync while still in the case.

ive done the visor case mod also
ive had the visor case for a while now also. i modified it to work with the button clip. You actually don't have to remove the tabs on the case to add the button either. it fits right bellow then and the clip can still spin. I never take mine off my belt so it gets alot of abuse while sitting in chairs and cars and has not failed yet. i originally went with this case so that i could use oversized springboards like the visorphone and still wear it on my hip. The only reason to go with another belt clip case is if your into fashion and not just pure spectacular functionality.
