Audible Advisor: What's the verdict?

I'm thinking about signing up for Audible.com becuase I'm about to add 20 minutes to my drive to work each day. Now that it has been out awhile, what is everyone's evaluation of the Audible springboard module? Anyone know of any good deals on getting any Audible equipment?

The last I looked, you could get the module cheaper if you sign a contract or something like that from audible.com.

I've had my Audible AdVisor for a couple months now and I really like it. The only down-sides are that you can't listen to audible books in format 1 and there isn't a battery pack (so you have to listen to the book from your handheld). Other than that -- it's great! Dampeoples was right -- you get the module for something like $20 if you sign up for a basic listener plan.

Audible.com says "Audible.com is moving its equipment out of New York City and upgrading its technology. We will be up and running again shortly."

A question for anyone who own's the Advisor: Does the module remember where you are in the book if you remove it? I know with my SoundsGood, it restarts on song 1 if I remove and reinsert the SoundsGood. Also, doe's anyone know if the SoundsGood energy clip might work with the Advisor? (I'm guessing not, becuase I assume it needs to interface with the Visor's screen to control it.)

I'm leaning toward just going with a Rio so I can leave it in my car. That's where I intend to do most of my listening anway.

Yes, the Audible Advisor does remember where you left off in a book. And it ispretty accurate. With my Pocket PC, it would always advance you a few minutes every time you started?

Question about Audible though.... I am trying to convert completely away from PC and on to the MAC, but do not have any idea how to load Audible content to the Advisor form a MAC. Anyone been able to do this or is it impossible?

I am also interested in the audible advisor, it seems like a great addition to my morning commute. I am wondering about battery usage? As my Prism ages, it seems to run through the batteries a little quicker. What is the battery usage in say an hours worth of listening? Also, what does the basic plan at audio.com allow for? As was mentioned, their site is down so any information from the community here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, I guess it works now and I'm looking into it too so I guess I'll answer about the plans (dunno about the battery usage):

It's $12.95/month for the "basic" plan which includes one audiobook/month plus one "subscription" a month, which includes newspaper and magazines, radio shows, comedy bits, etc. They seem to usually cost $4-$10/month.

The $15.95/month plan gets you two audiobooks per month.

It's kind of expensive for the annual subscription that's required (I swore it was only like 3 months before?). But it's a bargain if you were going to buy the books on there anyway.

I wish they had a little larger selection; there are a few books that I'd like to get that weren't on there.

As far as battery life... I use the AudibleAdvisor every day on my Prism. Since the Prism is actually turned OFF 99% of the listening time, the draw on the battery by the Audible module usually has little impact on how often I need to worry about recharging my Prism. In testing I have seen 30-40 hours of use on a Prism (but this is with the Prism left off). The Prism has a pretty high capacity battery--which is needed for its fluorescent backlight.

As far as I know, Audible has software that will download the audiobooks onto a device, but it is only for PCs. I am waiting for my roommate to get a new computer so I can finally download books onto my rio. I knew of that problem before I purchased it in July. I receoved a free refurbished Rio500 with a basic plan (2 books a month, not 1 book and 1 subscription).
