-- rating the visor (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=688)
As a person waiting for a visor, I would like to hear from those who actually own one as to the quality of the product itself. Try to separate your feelings about customer service and focus on the product. Overall, how satisfied are you with your visor? Please indicate which visor.
1=very unsatisfied
2=unsatisfied
3=sitting on the fence
4=satisfied
5=very satisfied
definately a 5
I give it a 3.5, maybe a 4. Overall it's a good device, but some of it's aspects detract from an otherwise spectacular product. For example the plastic case looks and feels a little cheap, as well as the stylus. But, overall the Visor is a good value. And the Springboard slot promises a world of innovative products and solutions in the future.

Blue Visor Deluxe
Wish I could give it a 5.
The stylus is defective and needs to have the small ridge near the tip smoothed out to prevent (further??) screen scratching. The owner can do this, but shouldn't have to.
Otherwise, I love the damn thing.
So, the New Mexican judge holds up a
"4.5"
for the BVD.

For the stylus: Rub it on the leg of your bluejeans for about 15 seconds and the burr is gone - Slick as a whistle.

A BIG 5. Love the 8 megs on by BVD. Since I upgraded from a PalmPilotPro, I missed a generation of Palm devices, but I am very impressed with the speed, the ease of upgrading from my previous device, and the IR port. Love Hotsyncing without a cable.
I got a Blue Visor Deluxe. This is my first PDA, and I found it extremely easy and intuitive to use. I know that this is an aspect of the OS, which is not particular to the Visor. Still, it does everything that I hoped and more without a hitch. It looks great. It's a nice size. It's got tons of memory, and despite the fact that I've installed a lot of apps, and databases and books, I've barely used up 20% of the memory.
So I give it a 1.
Plus 4.
Seriously - I give it a 5 all the way.
I don't, however, like the stylus. It doesn't feel flimsy to me, but then again, I don't know what a "real" stylus feels like, but I've got a 5 pack on the way (Thanks, BizEchilD!). There is a ridge on the tip of it, so I put a WriteRight on mine.
What kind of jeans do you wear, Beavercreek?
Quick reply on the stylus: the original Palm ones aren't so great, either. I have one by Cross (the same folks who sell pens) called a Digital Writer Styli. It looks just like a regular Cross pen, but the stylus tip is softer and helps you to write more smoothly on the PDA surface--plus it doesn't scratch!!! I would recommend the Cross model highly. See them at http://www.cross-pcg.com/pcg/digital.asp
or in your local store.

Color - not close to being as good as it should be!( I want the Ice I ordered)
stylus - is bad!,I scratched my visor in first minute of use.
Screen - is soft and scratchy but responds well.
CS - I'm afraid to send mine back' I'd like to get the ice I ordered.
Still the unit feels strong and well made.
A better stylus and some screen protectors included would have helped alot, I would have paid up front had I know they where needed. As for the service, they will get it right by next year.
As for the 5's? It's good not perfect!
A 5 all the way
Well, I haven't received my BVD yet, so I can't rate it. But I am anxiously awaiting it. If I had a dime for all the appointments I've missed since my PalmPilot Pro died in september, I probably wouldn't have to work anymore ;-) ...
Anyway, I thought I'd average the responses so far. We've had 17 responses, and the scores average out to be:
