taking apart a stowaway?
Hi,
i have a stowaway with a case that was customized by a friend of mine (she painted it). however, i dropped the damn thing in the bathtub and 4 of the keys have shorted out (c r f and 4). this sucks.
so i went and bought another stowaway and i'm wondering if it's possible to move the guts from the new one to the case of the old. i can't for the life of me figure out how to take it apart. after removing a bunch of screws the thing was still intact. anyone know how to do this?
thanks,
mc
It might be possible. I have here in front of me an old broken Palm III stowaway that I took apart, and I had no trouble taking it apart. You have your screws on the top, that hold the kb in, and than as I recall a hidden screw on the bottom, under one of the labels. After you do all that everythign comes apart. It was fairly simple for me. I do'nt exactly see where your having a problem. Now. putting it back togeteher, in a different case - that might be harder. It's up to youl. It might be worth it that the friend that made the specaltity case do it for you. (s)he already knew how so..
