-- Palm OS 3.5.2 and Compuserve (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9659)

Hello,
I have just purchased a Visor Prism and want to sign up with Compuserve in order to be able to access the web and my e mail when travelling.
The Prism is running on OS 3.52H1, however I've been told that after OS 3.1 there are many difficulties in being able to use Compuserve.
Do you know if anyone has been successful using OS 3.5.2 ?
I'm very happy otherwise with this unit, and had decided to not bother with a laptop.
Looking forward to any comments or suggestion you may have
Regards,
John Clemens

I cannot use ComuServe Classic as an ISP on my VDx (3.1H3). It connects just fine but after that, all transmissions seem to "hang" leading to time-outs in all online apps like AvantGo, Browse-it, and MultiMail. I'm not sure why it doesn't work except that in Windows DUN, the script sets the port to 7-E-1 to connect and then sets it back to 8-N-0 afterwards... this cannot be duplicated in the VDx's Network connection script.

In order to use the SpringPort modem for the review I did, I used EarthLink and had no problems at all.

Jaysee,

I was never successful in getting my old Visor to work with CompuServe classic. I haven't tried with the Prisim since now I am wireless.

What version of CompuServe are you using? Classic or 2000?

Happy Treo 600 user, so far. Thanx Cingular for having an unlocked phone.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.
