-- Visor Deluxe Won't Sync After Fatal Error (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14266)
I turned on my Visor Deluxe one morning to check my schedule, noticed it come up on the day before, and as it was switching to the current day, barely glimpsed a fatal error message before it shut down. It would not turn on after a soft reset, or even a hard reset, so I replaced the batteries (which the previous day had shown at least half the battery life left) and then it turned on fine.
I next went to hotsync so I could get most of my info back (it had been 3 days since my last sync)but after a minute, it kept telling me it couldn't find my computer. I read with interest the threads these past few days possibly relating to this issue and tried the suggestions to no avail (including a warm "system" reset which I hadn't heard of before). I tested my USB ports to my laptop by using my printer and a USB finger mouse, all of which worked fine.
On a whim, I tried syncing my wife's Visor Deluxe and now it won't sync either, even though she has never had any fatal errors and I've had two in the past 6 months that we have both owned them. The only programs I have on mine that she doesn't have (yet) is QuickOffice and Datebook4 which my demo period ran out and I was just about to buy when the fatal error occurred.
HELP !!!! I didn't realize I'd come to rely on my Visor so much already and I'm sorry for being so long-winded. Thanks.

Hotsynch problems.
I am having the same problem. I wonder if it's Quickoffice? I had just installed it ,
and then my visor reset itself when I tried to Hotsynch. Now it won't synch at all. It
cannot contact my computer. I've checked the connections and everything seems ok.
I just did another soft reset and can now Hotsynch!!! Problem solved!!!
Visor Won't Sync
Dear Goodkray:
Thanks for trying to help, but I eventually figured it out on my own and I'm either a little slow or others out there were trying to make this too difficult. No amount of resetting, hard or soft, would do the trick. Finally one night, I clicked on the hotsync manager on my taskbar and notice there were no check marks beside "local port." Once I checked this line, everything has worked fine since. Don't know how it ever got turned off but what a hassle for something so simple.
