gps companion for Visor Platinum

Can someone help me?

I have used the gps companion with my Visor Prisim without any problems. I recently purchased a Visor Platinum and have attempted to use the gps with it, but I have not been able to connect to any satelites. I read an article on the net that stated this;

Some folks have reported problems getting their gps companion to work on their Visor. If you have an older visor it may be that the GPS receiver is interfering with the visors electronics due to improper shielding in the visor. If so contact visor for an rf fix for this condition.

Does anyone know anything about this "rf fix"?

Also, I did the upgrade on the map companion and I still have version 1.2 and I think that the newest version is 2.1, correct?

Any advise would be appreciated,
