With the idea of a electronic book Springboards, I'd like to see a reference set put out on one board. Included would be a dictionary, thesaurus, almanac, quotation book, encyclopedia(enough memory?), and any other reference book that I can't think of right now.

Another great reference board would be a translating language book with the major world languages loaded onto it. This would be great for traveling.

I'm studying in my school's library and I just started thinking about my Visor...

Yeah, I'd definitely shell out for a combo dictionary/thesaurus/almanac/quotes/encyclopedia reference Springboard. The encyc would be a squeeze, but if it was text-only it *might* be doable. I know PalmOS has a limit for addressable memory, but perhaps there might be a way of working around it? Dunno.

How about a phone book? Your local Yellow pages, updated perhaps quarterly for download.

I edit a business-to-business directory in a specialized field, and I would love to publish my book for the Palm! A Springboard may be the only way to do it. It would need to be searchable by name, phone number number, category, keyword, and the like...

I like the idea of a ref set on a springboard and with the high capacity of compact flash now, 48, 64 and more megs should be enough to accomplish it. About the memory addressing of the palm os I know little or nothing about. Does all of the memory have to be addressed or can it be moved about in 12 mb chunks. Home computers can still only work with small chunks of data at a time, is this totally different or what?

Lonely Planet will be putting some of their travel guides on Springboard modules. I think its a terrific idea considering how heavy books are. It would be especially useful if you are travelling to multiple locations.

Home computers use pages of memory, kinda stupid, but it was developed like that when they started it. Mac of course doesn't have this problem, but what software is on mac anyways?
