memory expansion speeds

My Prism-Memplug-Compactflash combo works well, but i notice a slowdown when reading from the card.
For you guys that have switched to another format, is this speed lag in the other memory expansion types too (like SD, or handera's direct connection, memorystick, etc)
Thanks,
Sterling

I can't speak for memstick, but CF is MUCH faster than SD or MMC, from what I hear.

the springboard RAM is the fastest, of course.

...if you're using Launcher III, you can set your launcher to only refresh manually, it will give you quite a speed boost.

Not using any different launchers, just was wondering why piDirect took forever to perform any maintenance functions. thanks,

My CLIE seems really fast when accessing the MemoryStick. It seems faster than my CF MemPlug. Unfortunately, that is really not a fair comparison in my opinion. A Deluxe with OS3.1 and 16Mhz DragonBall is going to be slower than a CLIE with OS4.1 and a 33Mhz DragonBall. Of course, that is my opinion and YMMV.
