Just an idea. I have a Visor Prism and it just hit me, I really am not interested in the Platinum, but this forum is dedicated to both. I think it would make sense that if this forum was split into a Prism and a Platinum board. I can make good arguments either way; to keep it together and to seperate.

Actually, if you went back and checked (which I'm too lazy to actually do), I bet you'd find
that most of the posts in this forum are about the Prism. If you split them, the Platinum
forum might not have much activity, plus there are some posts that are relevent to both
(e.g. when discussing compatability with the 3.5.2H OS or performance with the 33MHz
dragonball processor...) I actually don't mind that much if they are split, but I thought
I'd just offer some alternate points.

Perhaps, it's time for a poll???????

split it. edge, plat and prism are each unique enough to warrant their own forums. edge has it's own now, prism and plat deserve theirs too. i actually think that a case could be made for the platinum being lumped in with the VDX instead of with the prism b/c of accessories and no color.

I'd vote for sticking platinum in with the Dlx.

I disagree.

the Visor Dlx+Solo go great together because they share simliar features

the Prism and Plat go together because they are BOTH 3.5, and are BOTH painted. There's hardly a Plat topic anyway, so It really doesn't matter.

FOR ME:::

the Wireless foroum needs to be called the telecummunications foroum, and anything that deals with the net (thinmodem, omnisky etc..) can go in their. Therefore, we make the Springboard section for regular springboards. And heck, while your at it, make a Memory Topic. almost every post in the springboard section is about memplug or compactflash so....

The Dlx/Solo have more in common with the Platinum because they both: Share the same form factor, are monochrome, and run on AAA batteries.

I agree that the wireless forum should be turned to a general network connections forum, most of the things you can do with OmniSky etc... you can do with wireline.

Memory I think should stay, I wouldn't say the majority is about the MemPlug, but a lot is. Its also a new product though, and this will die down eventually.

I agree. VDX users would probably find Platinum-related posts more useful than Prism owners.

This VDX user would not find Plat posts very useful.
Plat and Prism are identical except for the Prism's color screen, the color of the shell's plastic, the weight and the cost. These are all relatively minor differences.
DX and Plat have the same amount of memory and have grayscale screens, but otherwise are not comperable. Plat is faster, more expensive and uses a different version of the OS.

My vote - split. Prism is unique enough to have it's own forum.

Ok we've split the forum in two. There may be some platinum threads still in the Prism forum, but all within the last 30 days should have been moved.
