Ok, so I changed the battery type on my Visor to NiCad with no problems, but now I have a Memo List entry named "[NiCad]". If I delete this entry, does my Visor revert to the alkaline setting?

Am I missing something? Where do I set up the battery type in my Visor?

Ryan,

So your battery meter can properly display the life remaining on your batteries, you can set the Visor to recognize different types of batteries (alkaline, etc). To change the battery type, create a new note with the following:

a lowercase cursive "L"
followed by a period
followed by the number 7

If you repeat these steps (on the same note) it cycles through the different battery types. What you see on the screen is what type battery your Visor thinks it has in it.

I think it's confusing because we are using a memo for the example. It is the act of using the shortcut initially that does the trick. The shortcut can be done in any application that allows text input (datebook, todo list, etc.).

Once the shortcut has been done, the only way to change it is to do it again. Since there are three options, you would have to do it twice more to get it back to "stock."

I just changed my batteries, so they are fresh. I use Duracell's. Anyways, the shortcut .7 always says [other]. Do you have to have a different battery type in the unit for shortcut .7 to say something else? Repeating the sequence over and over still says [other].

I'm hack-free. But I do use Runtime and ATool, which both have the capability to monitor the battery levels. However, I think they only do it when they are running.
