-- ARGGH! Palm VNC would be great with a Wired Module! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11315)
Arrggh! I just read the post on Palm VNC that lets you remotely control machines if you have their IP address. How many admins would love to be able to pop-up a message or control box on their servers from anywhere you have a port in the building! Be able to remotely boot the Server, etc.
Xircom, now there is a killer app to go with the Wired Springboard! Bring it back!!!!! This capability alone would be worth the price of a module, without email or any of the other nifty things it could do.
How many other admins out there would like to be able to do this from their Visor family PDA?

Well, yes and no. Yes, it'd be way cool, but no, if I'm anywhere where there's ethernet access, I can just pull out my floppy disk contining the VNC client and use any available PC to remote control on a full size screen.

I appreciate that advice on just using a PC, but I'm often in a wire closet or some other location in the building where I have an available port, but no available PC. I would love just being able to use the Visor.
I would also love being able to T/S whether a port is active or not by simply plugging in and finding out whether I can see a specific known-good system. I should probably document better, but if I have a known MAC address on my visor, I can run sniffer from my desktop and track down where an undocumented wire is connected to on the hubs, and trim it. Somewhat more complicated than using a dedicated tester, but a dedicated tester doesn't let you do other things with it.
Anyway, it's academic unless Xircom brings back the springboard. Sigh.
