-- Are bad pixels common on the Prism? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12389)
I have received my second replacement Prism. I sent the first replacement back immediately because a bad pixel was bugging me. I have received a second replacement, with a different serial number, that also has a bad pixel in the upper right quadrant.
Are other Prism owners finding that they have a bad pixel or two and living with them?
No bad pixels here. If they're accepting replacements for a bad pixel it obviously isn't something you should "have to put up with." I'd call again and see if I couldn't talk to someone a little higher on the chain of command, were I you.

Its been a while since I've posted. I had been living happily with my VDX...Was one of the first to buy one...and I remember those horrible days of customer support.
Got my Prism yesterday. Woo-hoo. One bad pixel. I am calling them now...sigh.

Bad pixels exist in every colour LCD display out there - even on laptop computers.
Usually, companies like Toshiba and Compaq will have a minimum number of bad pixels before they will give you a replacement - usually in the range of 20 or so pixels, I think.
Therefore, having just one bad pixel on the Prism screen is okay, I think. I would be bothered if there were two or three.

My Prism is working great-no bad pixels. FYI-(if you haven't seen this at VC already) Handspring has a tendency to give refurbished replacements. Which maybe the cause of your problem with the second replacement.
good luck

Prism should not have bad pixels

Throughout my various exchanges of Prisms (4 total) I've never had one with a bad pixel.
None of my laptops have ever had them either.
