-- Another one who can't Hotsynch (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11238)
I am also having problems hotsynching my VDX. I have scanned the discussions for hints but so far nothing has worked. I hotsynch my VDX both at home and at work. At work I never have any problems, but at home I frequently have problems hotsynching.
At home I get my AvantGo channels, which lately I have been having to do without because of my hotsynch woes.
At work I hotsynch with Outlook via a serial cradle to a Windows NT 4.0 machine, at home I hotsynch to Palm Desktop via a USB cradle to a Win 98 machine.
Would it be possible that the VDX is getting confused because I hotsynch to two different environments?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you be a bit more specific about the problems you're having? Are you getting any error messages or is the HotSync just not working? You can try unplugging the cradle and then reconnecting it. Also, a soft reset of the Visor itself may help.
As far as syncing on 2 machines the way you describe, there should be no problems. The Visor won't get confused.

I get a "Connecting with the desktop" message on the Visor when pressing the Hotsynch button on the cradle, I never get the "Hotsynch Progress" window on the monitor. After a while, I get a "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." message on the Visor, just like if Hotsynch manager was not running.

I have tried both, with no luck, usually a hard reset is the only way to solve the problem. (Thanks to BackupAll, I usually get most of my data back into the Visor, however, the Hotsynch takes very long.)
