Fastest connection type?
I have a question. Which is faster: the Springboard slot or the hotsync connector thingy at the bottom (the correct term has escaped my mind)?

Ok, I'm not like mark, and can't give you EXACT specs, but I know the SB slot is faster. 1, it directly accesses the processor, and doesn't have to go through interfaces like serial - that's very important. 2, normally the more wires (pins), the more data can be transmitted at once. Granted, never is eveyr signle pin used at once, but it does seem to have the potential for more..

I'm not so sure, Mike. A full restore seems to take significantly quicker through the cradle than a restore from the backup module. Other factors may be coming into play, though.

Dick, I assume this is with software like Backup Buddy that a full restore is being done?
I'd personally think SB would be faster also, then again for HotSynchs they've barely even tapped the transfer speed since the old HotSynch protocol bogs it down so much.

Yes. Then again, it's been quite a while since I've had to do a complete restore using either method, nor have I ever done a comparitive restore between the two. I'm sure it's been done somewhere on the web. Time for some link-hunting...
