-- IR Hardware Hack? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2865)
Does anyone know what can be done hardware-wise to enhance the sending distance capability of the IR port on the Visor?
I know that some of the Visors (and most of the Palms) are able to cover a pretty good distance (up to 20 feet or so) but I've never successfully gone beyond a couple of feet in trying to control a radio or television using OmniRemote.
If there is a simple hack (e.g. changing a resister, adjusting a pot, etc.) that would accomplish this I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks,
Kevin
When beaming files I've been as far away as about 10-12 feet I believe, never tried farther. It's pretty decent. When I use OmniRemote though--the distance is shortened for some reason.

If you're only get a few inches to a couple of feet, try changing the frequency manually when you program it. The automatically selected frequency is often inappropriate.
I don't use Omniremote but I tried it. Some would only work from within a foot, and after changing the frequency I would get about a 10 foot range.
