Address Import ? - mac desktop

Helping out a friend who has a mac. Imported a tabbed file to the address book. Original file came from an in-house database. There are two fields of phone numbers. Both of these fields show up as other. In exploring the import option it seems there is an option for phone label - didn't notice that the first time around. Here's the question -

Is there a way on the desktop side to make a mass change of the phone label from other to Home for one field and Work for another? Or is the only option to export the current address book modify this file and then import again?

TIA

Hmm, you don't mention if this was OSX or not, but if it is it should be fairly simple to write a perl script to convert the data however you want, as long as you know the target and destination data formats.

It's an older mac 8.6? I don't really know macs - just enough to stumble around helping out with Visor stuff - I wouldn't begin to know how to write a perl script but thanks for taking the time to offer a possible solution.
