-- What is a "GVD"? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=813)
Graphite, or Green?

good question, i favor green because it's a deluxe...
As the coiner of the "BVD" usage, I feel a certain responsibility for the obviously ambiguous "GVD". I remember suggesting that the Graphite and Green advocates fight it out; perhaps this fight has been so joined.
Suggestion: Since, at this writing, there are 150 graphite Visor deluxes reported on the wonderful Visor received log, vs. 19 green, convenience would suggest designating the graphite units as GVDs.
How about GnVD for the green guys?
Leaving, of course, GV for the 2meg units.
Epistomologically yours,

Well, you can choose for green:
GrVD (still can look like graphite)
GnVD (looks strange)
GreenVD (no point)
GrnVD (most descriptive)
A humble sugestion:
Consider Graphite the default VDX (visor deluxe, Just "VD" seems inappropriate)
and Green the descriptive "GVD"

I can see why the preferable abbreviation is VDx...I don't think many people would want to refer to their visor as a VD. :-)

speaking of wax...car wax would work fine without problems on a visor?
just wanna make it nice any shiny...
A few coats of Carn(a)uba wax on the screen seems to be giving it a nice, slippery, hard layer of protection, particularly since I haven't gone the WriteRight route. I've stopped using the Scotch Tape on the main grafitti area, and will reapply the wax once I see some wear. I didn't have much luck removing scratches w/ the finest-grade scratch remover, however, but the scratches are less noticeable under the wax.
There's still some tape on the numeric area for KeyPad Hack numbers, which is great. I've waxed over the tape, which seems to hold it down well.
And the overall wear on the grafitti area might be lessened if Fitaly works as well as it seems to be. Learning a new screen keyboard isn't easy, but the Fitaly keyboard array sure seems to kick Qwerty's ergonomic behind, and I'm already as fast and more accurate than grafitti after a day of practice.
(Aside- people have made the "computers are the hot-rods of the 90's" analogy before. And it's much quicker to wax a few square inches of screen that the entire vehicle, eh? Not that I wax the car, or anything...)
