The User's Guide states that only alkaline batteries should be used in the Visor.
1. Are there dangers in using rechargables? (I want to use NiMH.)

2. Does the use of non-alkaline batteries void the warranty?

3. Does the Visor drain rechargables faster?

Well, I got my hot hands on an Emerson alkaline battery recharger (it's supposed to charge pretty much anything except gel cels, lithium, button batteries, and 9V). It has a toggle switch between alkanines and NiMH and NiCad. It was $22 from Northern harware (also known as Northern Hydraulics, or online at northern-online.com) I've got the Panasonics in there now, but they've been in for over 50 hours now (how much can you put in a AAA battery?), and it's recharged several D sized and AA batteries by now.

Basically it recommends that you charge the battery when it's half down, and will recharge regular alkalines up to 10 times.

My flashlights like it. I hope my Visor does too.

I recommand you try the Nexcell Batteries from www.nimhbattery.com. These are nichol metal hydride batteries. They are better than the rechargable alkalines. They cost only $2-3.00 each. They last a long time.
