-- Difference between buying from Handspring and a store... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=7613)
I bought a Handspring Visor Deluxe (Blue) from Handspring back when they first came out. So today, I went and bought another one for my brother, but this time I do so at Best Buy and noticed that the Visor has some white-out numbering on the battery cover and insider the battery placement. Is there a reason why there's a white-out numbering now or do I have a refurbished model or something?
Also instead of having that cheap plastic stylii, it now has a "deluxe" ice stylii from the five pack stylii.

Mine has the white typing on the battery case to. I'm pretty sure its not a refurbished unit though. That would be very illegal to sell a refurbished unit as new.

I bought my Graphite VDX from Handspring back in November. It also have the white-out numbering. There are rumors it maybe refurbished, have dram problem?, different release date, etc.. I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean anything. It has to be new if you buy it from the store.
don't worry guy's I have one of the first visors and mine has the white stuff too.
It is probably a quality check mark....
A long time ago there was a simular discusion too, check it out..
Bought mine at a local store 2 months ago (Blue VDX) and it has the white numbering AND the DRAM problem. :-(
Hope this helps.
Chris
I forgot to mention that instead of getting the cheap stylii, it came with a "ice" color stylii from the five pack.
