-- Paintball anyone? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13390)
I love my Prism, Geode, Thinmodem and Memplug. I am rapidly finding myself being sucked into the world of paintball!
I'm not the commando type I just love playing tag with markers that fire paintballs at 280 feet per second. Anyone else think that PDAs and Paintball is a weird combo?
Not at all.
I have been playing paintball since 1986, and I love it. I would think that there would be quite a few people here that enjoy it. It seems to go with the mentality: gadgets/toys, paintball, airplanes, SCUBA, bungee jumping, etc.
I have used Quicksheet a few times for money management at the field, especially when I am splitting cases with other people.

Wherever you go, there you are.
Seems natural to me. I've tried paintball a couple of times, and really enjoyed it.
Airsoft
I play airsoft, It's a lot like paintball but the guns are 1:1 scale replicas and shoot 0.2g - 0.4g 6mm plastic pellets.
>> http://www.dentrinity.com/shop/main.html << is where I buy my equipment (in Hong Kong).
I probably enjoy airsoft more than paintball because I'm a big Counter Strike fan (http://www.counter-strike.net/), there are airsoft guns for most of the lineup in CS.
I own a Prism, Thinmodem, and Memplug, and have been a computer geek for years, but I thought I should start going outside more often, hence taking up this sport
Im obsessed with paintball

I have friends that have been really into paintball, but it never appealed to me. Pointing any kind of gun at someone, then pulling the trigger, seems too weird.

I think most people have a distorted view of the sport. (I'm not refering to anyone in particular, just the public at large.) They think it's a commando type military game, but it's not. It is more like tag or capture the flag.
A lot of the players paint their markers in color that you'd never paint a real gun. I used to shoot on a rifle team and paintball markers are not even a close comparison to rifles when it comes to accuracy.
One of the things that really appeals to me about the sport is the strategy. You can't go out just shooting a lot of paint and expect to win. There are skills, just like any other sport, that you have to develop.
I understand that it's not a commando type military game and that there is a lot of strategy involved that I truly admire, but as a rule, I don't point any type of gun at a person.
I have several handguns of various calibers, two 12 Ga. shotguns and a rifle. One of the golden rules of firearms safety is never point the muzzle at anything you don't want to shoot. I kind of carry this philosophy out to all guns, understanding that it is probably construed as overkill (no pun intended) to most people, but that's a personal decision on my part.
I have watched some on TV and I must admit that the people doing it really seem to be having a good time.

Hey, I used to own a gun like that... a replica of a 'Glock 17'
Which I am not sure was legal in Holland, but legal in Denmark, where I bought it... I got rid of it anyway..
Mine was airoperated, you had to 'load' it like you would load a new magazine for everybullet..
I had both plastic and paint pettets.
It was fun while it lasted...
Do you need a permit for those in the US? They look too real so there is a risk people use them to rob banks etc..
