-- Mac users: Visor/OS 9.0.4 fix form HS (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2732)
Hi everyone,
Handspring has just posted an update for 9.0.4 users.
Go get it !
Great, I just upgraded to the new Handspring Mac software today, and now no more hotsynching! I can always downgrade to what I used yesterday, just wish the software for these PDA things didn't break with each upgrade
.
PS-In case anybody wonders, I tried all the workarounds posted on this forum about MacOS 9.0.4 not hotsynching, nothing seems to work
.
The new 2.6 seems to even work faster. One of the big things they fixed was the ability to backup large files-like Avantgo. Now my BackupBuddy works flawlessly. Great upgrade!
Two questions:
1) Should I upgrade to the new HS Palm desktop if I'm still using Mac OS 8.6?
2) Do you know if this fixes the 9.04 bug for Palm users? - a friend was really upset when I told him that handspring.com had a patch before Palm.com!
I'm using MacOS 8.6 and I haven't had any problems with the new updated desktop software.
I was happy to go back to the improved Instant Palm Desktop menu after having to move from Palm Desktop 2.5 with my Palm III to Palm Desktop 2.1 with my Visor.
I downloaded 2.6, and it worked for a little while , but I had some real problems.
At first, everything seemed fine until AvantGo started. Then my computer gave up and left the hand held hanging. The log said "Please upgrade your version of AvantGo", but I'm running the only Mac version. So, I downloaded AvantGo again and installed it. After that., the computer would hangup with a error in the log.
Error 25616.
I have a PowerBook G3 with a MacAlly Cardbus card running Mac OS 9.0.4.
Works great on an iMac DV with 9.0.4. No problems here. Avantgo works fine also.
