Question Problems with sound

I've recently been having a strange problem with the sound on my VPR. I have all the sound settings turned on however the sound is almost never working it pretty much fades in and out when ever it feels like it but for the most part is off. I'm curious to find out if anyone else has experienced anything like this with their Prism or better yet found a solution to fix it.

Any takers on this one?

loose connection?

I can't find it now, but there was a thread where someone was asking about replacing the piezo crystal with a real speaker. There isn't the current to drive a real speaker, but someone had replaced the piezo crystal with a different one with higher volume. I don't remember if there was wire clipping involved or if there was a connector. If you want to void your warrentee, you could open it up and look for a loose connection.

I believe this is the thread dessa is referring to.

yes I remember reading that thread a month or so ago myself but it turned out that my problem is a hardware problem. apparently the jack that connects the speaker to the board inside my prism is not connected right to the board. the sound loss what intermittend at first but now is gone completely which probably means it came completly disconected by now. it was hanging on by a thread before. time for a replacement since it still well within warranty.
