-- Prism and screen protectors (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11919)
I just upgraded to a Prism from a Delux. Wow, this thing is great!! I have a question, though:
With my delux I had the Write Right screen protectors and loved them. I seem to recall reading somewhere that those screen protectors didn't work well with the Prism because of the color screen or something. I honestly don't remember the exact reason.
Anyhow, what do other people use as screen protectors with their Prism and what are the recomendations?
Thanks!

Apparently the Palm IIIc "Color" writerights work fine on the prism.
I personally cut a piece out of a clear plastic photogragh slieve and it works great. Other people have gone to fabric stores and purchased clear vinal with good success stores.
The WriteRights are way over-priced and can slightly distort the dispaly.
Writeright for palm IIIc is not working when I use it with my prism.
It breaks all the colors on my prism screen.
Don't buy it!

I'm not quite sure what Akur means by "broken" colors, but I'm using the IIIc WriteRights on my Prism and am very happy with the results.
I have used the palm IIIc writerights on my prism
since the day i got it,and am very happy with them no problems at all.

it makes the color become blury and I cannot make the air bubble get out from under the screen.

Greetings,
Based on a reccomendation from someone here on Visorcentral, I've just received my order of "Screen It" screen protectors from http://www.purplemoo.com
After installation I'll let you know how they work out.

Screen It protectors
Greetings,
Okay, I've installed my Screen It protector strip on my Prism, and I'm pleased with the results. Are they completely invisible--no. The screen is slightly duller than without the protection, but that's to be expected. Turning up the brightness a bit helped as here.
But there are no wierd problems that others have mentioned with regard to the writeright product. And I can't perceive any difference when I'm writing on it either.
Look, anyone who has scratched their pda knows how annoying that can be. Screen It seems to be a good compromise. I reccomend it. (Not related to purplemoo.com in any way; just a satisfied customer....)

anyone know any good tricks to avoid the bubbles?
I've had my 2nd Prism for about 2 months now with no screen protection (first Prism was a paint problem return) , and I'm amazed at how scratch resistant the screen is. My old deluxe, that I took care of, would show any little 'ole scratch. Not so with the Prism...
Anybody else notice this (who had another different PDA previously)??
Larry,
I had just the opposite experience. Prior to owning my visor, I had a Palm III & a Palm Vx. At the time, I scoffed at screen protectors and thought they were just a clever money making scheme; playing on people's fears. After all, like you I take very good care of my pda's. But sure enough; one day I looked down at my new Prism and there was a very obvious permanent scratch. Luckily that Prism proved defective, and Handspring took it back. So now I'm not taking any more chances with my new replacment. If $20 will protect my Prism, so be it.

Gotta side with LarryN and K: Had a Prism two months now, and I only have screen protector on the Grafitti area, the rest of the screen is "unprotected." It is still spotless. Each day I use a small soft-bristle brush to brush off the dust and finish by running a soft COTTON cloth over the screen. Screen has been very durable to other scratches and I do "Play" the rest of the screen (tap and drag for both Chess and Avantgo pages, which drag like Adobe Acrobat documents.) Again, so far, clean, and perfectly clear. No mars, scratches, anything.
