2 Visors?

Hello,
I have been a long time user of the VDX but am looking to get a prism, since i use mine so much that the color would be nice. However i am wondering how can i move everything over to a new device, including software that i have lost the registration nubmer to? and can i name them both the same thing? so everyhing synces the same? or do i have to change them? I do have the back up module so could i just do a back up on the VDX and a restore on the Prisim?

Any help would be gretly apperaciated.

Two handhelds syncing to the same computer cannot have the same user ID.

If you simply want to upgrade from a Deluxe to a Prism, you can do a full backup of the Deluxe using the module and then restore it to the Prism. The only thing to watch for is if you have the HS_Updater installed on the Deluxe, you need to do a warm reset and then delete it from the VDx before backing up.

If you're using the latest version of the desktop/hotsync software, you should also be able to synce everything from the Deluxe to the Prism. When you sync the Prism for the first time, it will ask for a user ID... give it the same one as the VDx. The same thing applies here for the updater... remove it first.

All you software settings should remain from one unit to the other as most of that registration information is stored right on the handheld in Saved_Preferences.

Oh yes you can

I have had a VXD for a long time then I got a Prism in June. What I did was backup the VXD onto the backup mod then I put it in the Prism and did a restore. Everything is fine. Now I have the charging cradle hooked up to the computer and from time to time I put the VXD in and sync it using the same user name that is on my Prism. What it left me with is two exactly the same visors, same programs, same set up, well except for the color issue.
