Springboard module books

I have been trying to find out whether books originally purchased on Springboard modules for the Palmreader/Peanutreader format can be salvaged when switching to a non-Springboard device. I have a Prism and I have a module I bought that contains 7 Star Trek books, for the Palmreader format. I am looking at upgrading to a Palm m515 (or Treo 90) and wanted to get the files for Palmreader for those books, since the Springboard won't be usable. Has anyone tried getting these from Palm Digital Media (formerly Peanut Press)? They do sell those as ebooks you can buy in pdb format for their reader, but I don't want to pay for something I already bought. Since Handspring itself is making devices without Springboards, I was hoping there was a way to get this done, but I can't find an answer on Palmreader or Handspring's websites. Thanks.

Lightbulb Contact the manufacturer

Hey,

I experienced the same problem as you had with the gameface for my prism. As it happens when I bought my gameface, there was a newer version of Zap2016 at www.astraware.com. I wrote them an email and explained my situation and I was given a registration code no questions asked. My point is is to contact the manufacturer and explain to them that you bought this module with 7 star trek books on it but you need it in a different format.

Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money.....

Handspring may not be making devices with Springboards any more, but the Treo 180 has the full SD implementation, yes HS has joined forces with Palm against the evil empire, Soney Baloney. They want you to buy Palm SD content cards. Even Franklin has jumped onto this bandwagon, dumping springboards and pushing their new SD cards.

Good luck getting anything FREE out of them! Oh, wouldn't it be nice if they followed the lead of Audible.com in selling content regardless of format? Once you pay for an Audible.com title, it is yours forever, and you can re-download in whatever format they offer, which are many. You can even burn CD-ROM's, as long as you do not do so for redistribution to others. Although how they can adequately control copying and free distribution or black-market sales I do not know.

BTW, FWIW, I tried to beam my Franklin M-W dictionary between two Visors, and at first the title did appear, but I could not activate it. Then I tried to beam it back to the first Visor, with the Springboard removed, but noticed a dot in front of the title indicating it was non-beamable! I tried the same thing with my Franklin 5 Language translator, same effect. Those things are definitely READ ONLY!

Oooops! Divide that by 2. I meant to say the Treo 90!
