-- modified screen cover for use with springboard modules (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12859)
A fellow Visor geek I was talking with told me I should post this idea to the discussion boards...
I had woes about not being able to snap on the screen cover when those annoyingly bulky Springboard modules are in place. So, I did something about it. I modified my old cover.
Since the main problem is the top clip not being able to snap on, I sawed it off with a Dremel cutoff disc and sanded it down for a nice smooth look. I also drilled a hole in the cover in line with the microphone hole.
A then attached a small piece of Velcro to both the cover and immediately above the screen on the Visor. Put the two little pegs in the hole, rotate it up, and the Velcro does a great job of holding the cover in place.
The final result is not too garish, and I can now talk on the VisorPhone without getting face-smudge all over the screen.
Another bonus to this is I am not worried about the screen getting messed up when the Visor is in my pocket, and I don't have to have a geeky belt-clip case to carry the thing around. I really prefer to be a stealth geek.
cheers,

...I would have used some black velcro
Good job!
Now if you could cut it in half, hing it and use some more velcro, you could attach it to the back.

Would one of those FlipLids work for you? That way, you wouldn't have to hold the cover when you dialed, etc. I think that the FlipClip and FlipLid combo would still be able to open and then you would just close it to talk.
Now, if I used black Velcro, you would not have been able to see it in the pic. Besides, it's all I had handy at the time.
One drawback to this idea is that, in my case, the cover cannot attach to the back because the VisorPhone battery is just too darned bulky. I just end up shoving it in my pocket if necessary.
I wish I could use a FlipLid, but alas, the springboard slot is occupied. Perhaps some modifications to the lid to attach it to the phone could work.
I don't mean the Flip Cover, I mean the FlipClip/Lid combo.

Flip Lids
I ordered one of the flip lids a few weeks ago and thought it would solve all my Visor problems. To my disappointment, I can't even stand to have it on my Visor. It doesn't seem to attach very securely at the top and the cover is a diferent shape than my Visor. The stylus is also ahrder to get out. There has to be something better...
MSNobbley, I think that your experience is limited. I find that the Flip-Clip is a VERY NICE hting to have. AND IS EXTREMLY USEFUL!
It attaches securly enough that I can pick up my visor by the lid, and I got used to the Stylus problem. The lid doesn't fit correctly, but it's a Palm II lid. The Visor ones that FIT PERFECTLY should come soon.
I realyl like my Flip-Clip and covers. They work well, and do the job well. And the price is a steal! For now they are a perfect soloution. easy, onehanded cover, that protects your Visor!
I will say again, that I really enjoy it, and so do hundreds of other people.

Nice lid idea! Now, when Tactilis can get their website working I'll check it out in more detail. Thanks for the heads up Rolando. The mixed reviews are also good.
